The Story
Henry Soulsby built this Shell station in 1926, the very year Route 66 was designated. His son Russell took over and with his wife Ola ran it until 1991 - 65 years of Soulsby family operation.
After Russell's death, Ola continued living in the attached house, welcoming visitors and sharing Route 66 stories until her death in 2012. The station has been preserved as a historic site.
