The story

Family-owned authentic Mexican restaurant specializing in cuisine from the Guadalajara region. The restaurant was originally founded in 1989 by Juan Gonzalez at 61 N. Bothwell Street (first as "Nuevo Mexico," then renamed "Mexico Uno"). When the village condemned that property for redevelopment in 2003, the family relocated to 15 N. Brockway Street, which had previously been The Judge's Decision bar. The restaurant is now owned and operated by Jaime Gonzalez, Juan's son, maintaining three generations of family involvement.
