The story
Real estate developer James A. Moore had the Moore Theatre and the adjoining Moore Hotel built partly to house and entertain visitors to the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition. Architect E. W. Houghton designed them. The theater opened in late 1907, in time for the fair's original date, but the exposition was postponed to 1909.
The Moore is Seattle's oldest active theater and still hosts plays, concerts and lectures. Pearl Jam's "Even Flow" video was shot at a 1992 concert here.
