The story

Built in 1915 as the Rapid City Fire Hall in the Chicago School style, the building served as Fire Station One until the catastrophic June 1972 flood forced the department to relocate. It reopened as Firehouse Brewing Company on December 5, 1991 — billed as South Dakota's first brewpub and still marketed as the state's oldest operating brewery. The interior keeps the original fire pole, and the phone number (605-348-1915) deliberately nods to the construction year.
