The story
The building was erected in 1966 by Ruth and Louis Cooper and originally opened as Farmer Cooper's Chicken Restaurant in 1967. Over the decades it changed hands and names multiple times, becoming a fixture in the Kensington Business Center area. In 2018, new local ownership stepped in to write the next chapter, rebranding it as The Red Barn Restaurant and Brewery. Today it operates as a brewpub serving American comfort food, with a game room featuring pool, darts, and shuffleboard. Live music and entertainment happen on weekends, and the restaurant is known for its Friday fish fry.
