The story
Smyth (director 1970-2004) rebuilt it as a home-like setting for traumatized children; after a 2004 crisis, Sister Catherine Ryan restored the agency and residents returned in 2007. Maryville now runs programs in Des Plaines, Chicago and Bartlett plus a special-needs high school in Niles.
