The story
Firmin "Frank" Toulet opened the restaurant in 1919 as Frank's Francois Café. In 1923 Joseph Musso became his partner and the name changed to Musso & Frank. In 1936 the restaurant expanded to 6667 Hollywood Boulevard.
Writers including Raymond Chandler and William Faulkner spent hours at the bar, and F. Scott Fitzgerald was among its literary regulars. Charlie Chaplin regularly ate lunch here. The waiters and bartenders still wear the red coats they have worn for decades.
