The story
The Oak Hills Drive-In opened in 1951 just southeast of Hogle Zoo, and Fox Intermountain Theatres operated it. Nearby residents to the south could get free movies with sound by paying a $50 installation fee for a monaural speaker connection.
It closed around 1965, when it was demolished for a housing subdivision. A 1997 aerial photo shows the subdivision that replaced it. Fox Intermountain then built the Olympus Drive-In at 5600 South and 900 East.
