The Story
Frank Lloyd Wright designed the First National Bank of Dwight in 1905, one of his rare commercial buildings. The prairie-style structure features his signature horizontal lines, geometric patterns, and integration with the landscape.
When Route 66 came through Dwight 21 years later, the Wright building became a landmark for travelers. It now serves as a museum and Route 66 visitor center, combining architectural history with highway heritage.
