The Story
The Palms Grill opened in 1934 and served Route 66 travelers through the highway's golden years. After closing in the 1960s, the building sat vacant for decades.
A 2009 restoration brought the café back to life, complete with period décor, a soda fountain, and a massive 16-foot tall fiberglass bunny named 'Atlanta Bunny' out front. The bunny was added as a modern nod to Route 66's tradition of roadside oddities.
Surprise Facts
→ The 16-foot bunny was a modern addition in the Route 66 tradition
