The Story
Opening in 1926 - the same year Route 66 was designated - the Rialto Square Theatre represents the opulence of the Roaring Twenties. This 'Jewel of Joliet' features a stunning rotunda with a 60-foot ceiling adorned with Greek goddesses, crystal chandeliers, and marble staircases.
As Route 66 brought travelers through Joliet, the Rialto served as a cultural beacon. Today, the fully restored theater hosts concerts, plays, and comedy shows.
