The story
Opened in 1960 as Bob's Palatine Inn, the establishment was known interchangeably as "Palatine Inn" or "The Office" throughout the 1960s and 1970s. The name officially became "The Office" around 1980. The tavern served as a local gathering spot for nearly 50 years, with the playful name allowing patrons to tell their spouses they were "staying late at The Office." The bar closed in 2009, and the building was demolished in February 2010.
