The story
Lewis L. Bradbury, who made his fortune in mining and real estate, first hired local architect Sumner Hunt to design the building. He then gave the job to George Wyman, one of Hunt's draftsmen. The five-story building, finished in 1893, is known for its skylit atrium of glazed and unglazed yellow and pink brick and its wrought iron, which was made in France and shown at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair.
The building appears in the 1982 film "Blade Runner." Since 1996 it has housed the Los Angeles Police Department's Internal Affairs division.
