The story
Anthem Grill opened around 2009 in the former Marlowe's Restaurant building and became a casual sports bar and restaurant at 704 W. Euclid Avenue. The venue was packed with screens, including two massive 103-inch high-definition projection televisions, and offered a full dining area with outdoor seating. The bar ran liquor operations but struggled to find a sustainable customer base. Anthem turned in its liquor license on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, marking its closure after little more than two years in business. As it shut down, one side of the marquee sign announced the closure while the other offered a thank-you to the community.
