The story
Garfield's Beverage Warehouse, a family-owned chain that started in 1951 as Cicero Cut-Rate Liquors in Cicero, Illinois, opened its Palatine location in 2017. The store operates as part of an eight-store Chicagoland chain run by the original owner's son and grandson. The location at 15 South Brockway continues the building's use as a beer, wine, and spirits retailer, which it has been since at least the mid-2000s. The store is known for customer service and curated selection, and the Garfield family maintains a philosophy of personal relationships with customers.
