The story

Built in 1893 in local pink-sandstone Richardsonian Romanesque style, the hilltop "Sandstone School on the Hill" served as Hot Springs' school for all twelve grades until 1961. After it closed, it was repurposed as the Fall River Pioneer Museum, which now fills the old schoolhouse with roughly two dozen exhibits of local history — pioneer tools, vintage appliances, quilts, and historic photographs of Fall River County.
