The story
After a flood destroyed Western League Park, the Oklahoma City Indians moved into a new field at NW 4th and Pennsylvania by their 1924 season opener. It was considered modern for its day, with a parking lot and streetcar access, and the first night game was played there in 1930. It was also known as Jack Holland Field, Western League Park and Tribe Park.
Rogers Hornsby managed the Indians in 1940 and 1941. In 1949 Bill Veeck bought the team as a farm club for the Cleveland Indians, and players such as Al Rosen and Dale Mitchell came through. Retrosheet lists Negro league games at the park in the late 1930s and early 1940s. The Indians folded in 1958 after financial hardship. StatsCrew says the site is now a waterworks.
