The Story
Built in 1929 as the Blue Mill Restaurant, this distinctive Dutch windmill-shaped building served Route 66 travelers for decades. The whimsical architecture made it a memorable landmark.
After years of decline, it was restored and reopened as The Mill Museum, featuring Route 66 memorabilia, a restored soda fountain, and rotating exhibits about the highway's history through Lincoln.
