The Palatine Hills Golf Course officially opened in 1968. The Palatine Park District acquired the land for the course in 1965, purchasing it from nine different owners, with the largest parcel coming from Nicholas Gavliano's Hidden Acres farm. The original farmhouse on the property was repurposed and remodeled into the current clubhouse
