The story

The Times Herald was founded in 1888 through a merger of the Dallas Times and the Dallas Herald, and for most of its 102 years it was an afternoon paper. Its building stood at 1101 Pacific Avenue, bounded by Pacific, Griffin and Patterson. Photographer Squire Haskins shot the exterior on July 28, 1958, and a blogger described the lobby as gleaming mid-century style.

The paper won three Pulitzer Prizes, all for photography. Times Mirror owned it from 1969 until MediaNews Group bought it in 1986, and John Buzzetta's company bought it in 1988. It ceased publication on December 8, 1991. The next day Belo Corporation, owner of the Morning News, bought its assets for $55 million. The building was demolished in 1993 and replaced by a parking lot.

A 2016 blog post said a parking lot replaced it; current use was not checked.
