The story
Built in 1888 in the spa park at the confluence of the Tabor and Czarny Potok, the Dworzec Gościnny was Rymanów-Zdrój's representative building and social centre, designed by the spa's own director Stanisław Eljasz-Radzikowski in the Swiss resort manner. It held guest rooms, a restaurant, a reading room, and a theatre-and-concert hall with a ballroom, and anchored the resort through its peak years — thirty-eight boarding houses and 2,514 annual visitors by 1905. It came through the 1893 flood, the fires of the early 1910s, and the devastation of 1915. In the Second World War troops quartered inside started a fire that gutted it, and in December 1946, during the aftermath fighting of the Polish-Ukrainian conflict, Ukrainian Insurgent Army units burned it along with nearby Deszno. It was never rebuilt.
